Check out or Paper Airplanes! We went into the hallway to create a "runway" for our airplanes. We even used the meter stick to measure how far the planes went! There are also a few students working on creating an airport diorama! :)
Dear parents,
We are in need of playdough for our classroom. If anyone is willing and able to make some for us we would truly appreciate it. We welcome any color and anything else you might want to add to make the playdough fun (i.e. glitter, food colouring, cinnamon etc ) Log-in information was sent home today so that students can access Raz Kids from home. Raz Kids is a reading program online. It can be accessed from many devices (i.e. computer, iPad, etc.) and is a great way to get children interested in reading. Students are able to listen to a book (by clicking on the ear symbol), read a book (by clicking on the eye), record a book, and answer questions about a book they have ready once they reach Level A (by clicking on the question mark - questions can also be read to the student by clicking the appropriate symbol). As the teacher, I am able to access student reports to see how everyone is doing. By following the steps on the sheet that was sent home today, parents/guardians are also able to have access to their child's progress. As a reward, students earn stars (more starts are earned if a book is read rather than listened to) which can be used to buy things for the Raz Robot and Rocket!
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to let us know! We hope everyone enjoyed the nice long weekend with family and friends.
Tomorrow we will be having our Ash Wednesday liturgy at 9:30a.m. All are welcomed to attend. Last week was so much fun with all the Valentine's Day celebrations. Here are a few snapshots of all the fun. Lastly, this is a gentle reminder to please make sure you sign and send back the last page of the report card along with the envelope. Thank you/Merci Can you believe we've been in school for 100 days?!! Time sure does fly when you are having fun and learning.
We were able to show the number 100 in different ways today...with our bodies, with the geo-boards and even our food! Take a look... Also, as we approach Valentine's Day, I'm sure many our students will want to give out cards to their friends. To make sure we have enough time with the distribution of all the cards, please have your child write only his/her name on the card. DO NOT address the card. There are 23 friends in our class. Have a wonderful weekend! |
