Today we explored how pumpkins grow and what they need for this to happen. We apologize for not writing in the blog lately. We have had some technical difficulties. We seem to be up and running now so here is a snapshot of some of the learning that has been taking place in the classroom. We love this animal puzzle ! The writing center is busy today! "Look at what I made!" We're getting into the Halloween spirit. Today a few of our friends brought in a small pumpkin (citrouille) to paint. Should your child wish to participate in this activity, please send in a pumpkin by Monday, October 27th. We also have begun an inquiry into origami. Keep your eyes opened for some fun paper shaped animals coming home. Lastly, Halloween is fast approaching and many of our friends are eager to wear their costumes to school. Please remember if your child does decide to wear his or her costume, that there are no violent objects or masks permitted. As an alternative, children can wear orange and black. The afternoon will consist of a movie and popcorn. Should you wish to send in a special nut- free treat with your child, please feel free to do so.
Merci! Dear Parents,
As we approach the Thanksgiving Holiday, we are thankful for the privilege and honor we all have to be working with your children each and everyday. We hope your holiday is filled with good food, laughter and many blessings! Happy Thanksgiving! Mrs. Cusano, Miss. Hodgins and Mrs. McIntyre Today was so much fun!!! We made apple sauce in our pyjamas! Here are a few pictures of our fun day.
Also, Scholastic book orders were sent home today. Please note that they are due on Tuesday. Scholastic is a great way to instill the love of reading in your child at such affordable prices. Lastly our "Thanksgiving Food Drive" has begun and will continue until October 9th. Thank you to all parents who are able to donate food cans in support of the Stittsville Food Bank. |
